I. The Admins & Members
A. In the Anime, there are two admins for Magma that are known and one Aqua admin that is know. For magma, they are Bannai and Tabitha. For Aqua, it is Shelly. Bannai has spiky purple hair with an orange streak in it. Tabitha has short purplish hair, that is almost always concealed by the hood of the uniform, and black eyes. Shelly has long pink curly hair and red eyes. All admins and simply called Admins. Most members of both teams are male, although two girl grunts, one from each side, appear often in the background. The Aqua Grunt Girl has bluish-green hair past her waist, the Manga grunt girl has short violet hair that matches Tabitha’s.
B. In the Games, there are two Admins for each team, one male and one female. For Magma, they are Courtney and Tabitha. For Aqua, they are Shelly and Matt. Tabitha’s hair is covered by his hood, but his eyes are still black. Courtney has purplish-colored hair that peaks out slightly and blue eyes. Matt is a fat guy who has orange hair pulled in a ponytail behind him (barely visible) and black eyes. Shelly has long curly ORANGE hair and black eyes. All admins and simply called Admins.
C. In the Manga, each team has three admins, two boys and one girl per team. For Magma, they are Kagari (Courtney), Homura (Tabitha), and Hokage (Hank). For Aqua, the three admins are Izumi (Shelly), Ushio (matts), and Shizuku (Scott). Kagari has debatable hair color (most use shades of purple, blue, or black) and either red or blue eyes. Homura does not appear like the other “Tabitha”. He has curly black hair and black eyes. Hokage sports golden eyes and short blonde hair. The three Magma Admins are called the “3 Fireheads”. They have their “admin” status from the beginning of the Manga. On the other hand, Aqua’s admins are called the “S Trio” and they are appointed their admin status near the beginning of the Manga after completing a successful mission. Izumi has not changed much (her hair color is debatable as either pink or orange) and her eyes are red. Ushio is still fat, but he is now has short stubby black hair with sideburns in the Manga instead of the orange hair in the ponytail. His eyes are still black. Shizuku also lacks hair (unless his bandana covers it) and has black eyes, but he is thin. It should also be noted that the two grunt girls from the anime do not appear as often or much at all in the manga, although the Magma grunt girl can be seen once.
II. The Bosses
A. In the Anime, both Aogiri (Archie) and Matsubusa (Maxie) are never seen battling. Hell, they never even touch a Pokèball! Furthermore, the only time thus far that they have even shown their faces is in the “Groudon vs. Kyogre” episodes.
B. In the game, you (as the main character) combat the boss of your “enemy team” twice. Once at Mt. Chimney and again right before the legendary Pokèmon is awakened. You actually see them battle and do some of the work themselves.
C. In the Manga, the bosses appear a few times. You see Aogiri giving orders to his members and the same happens with Matsubusa. They actually do battle each other in once and you see their Pokèmon used. Furthermore, Aogiri has a job as the TV station director in the Manga, a position he does not hold in the game or anime. Aogiri is also a bit crueler in the manga, ordering his Pokemon to attack one of his own members at one point for a previous failure and not allowing him on a mission.
III. The Uniforms
A. In the Anime, the Magma uniform is generally he same for all members. The uniform consists of a sleeveless black shirt and pants (skirt for the girls) over which a red “shawl” emblazoned with the magma symbol is draped. This “shawl” has slightly jagged sleeves and jagged edges along the bottom. It also has a horned hood attached which can be down or put up over the head of the member. There is typically a belt around the waist. There are red “armlets” around the wrist area and black gloves. There are similar red “leglets” around the ankles and black boots. The men all wear long pants and the girls wear short shirts (above the knees) in length. The admin uniform for the men, the only admin uniform wee see, is basically the same as the grunt uniform with the addition of white stripes on the legs. The admins also have slightly longer horns and short “capes”; the backs of the red part of their uniforms are extended slightly. The uniform also has “goggles/a visor” that can be put over the eyes. These most likely display data. They also glow an eerie red. There are also COM links under the hood with a vocal part that extends near the mouth that are sometimes used. Matsubusa wears his typical red and black split uniform. For all magma members, the hood is almost always up. For Aqua, all members wear pants. The grunts have white and black striped short t-shirts that expose the belly and long blue pants with white markings down the outsides. They also sport bandanas on which is the aqua symbol, black gloves, and black shoes. The female admin outfit replaces the striped shirt with a plain sleeveless short black shirt on top of which there is a blue sleeveless vest. The markings on the pants are now red instead of white, the shoes have changed color from black to red, and the gloves are blue. Aogiri wears a black shirt and pants and a darker blue bandana with the aqua symbol.
B. In the games, the uniforms differ slightly from the anime ones. The grunt outfits are the exact same as in the anime. However, the admin outfits have slight changes. The “capes” are now much longer and more pronounced and there is a clear difference in horn length. There is also the addition of the girl admin outfit. It has a long skirt, past the knees, with the white stripes and the rest of the typical grunt girl uniform, with the longer horns and cape of course. Matsubusa’s outfit remains unchanged. The hood is up on all Magma members. For Aqua, the grunt outfits have been modified slightly. The male grunt’s shirt is now longer, fully covering the belly of the member while the female’s top remains short. The female grunt’s shoes are now still red and the gloves on both grunts have been changed from black to blue. The black top on the female admin outfit has become smaller and the shoes have changed color to orange. The male admin outfit makes its first appearance in the game. There is no shirt, only a sleeveless blue vest over the top potion. The long blue pants lack the markings that the female admin outfit bears, but the outfit still has the blue gloves and blue bandanna. There are also black shoes. Aogiri’s outfit changes from black to a navy blue and the bandanna is now the same color as the bandanna for the other aqua members.
C. In the Manga, the uniforms change ever so slightly. The magma grunt uniforms stay basically the same. However, the cape on the Admin uniforms becomes even longer, now a little past the knees. The horns on the admin outfits serve as recording devices call “firelighters” and can be removed from the uniform. There are also times where the hood is not worm or put down, most often at the hideout. Matsubusa gains a few more things for his closet. While he does still have, and most oftenly wear the uniform seen in both the games and the anime, he now has a red cloak that is draped around on top of this outfit sometimes, fasted at the shoulder with a magma symbol clasp. He is also seen wearing the magma uniform, which sports long horns, slightly longer than the horns on the admin uniforms, and a cape as well. The Aqua grunt uniforms remain the same as in the game, but the outfits of the admins change once more. The male admin’s outfit gains a striped t-shirt under the vest. The t-shirt stick out from under the vest at the sleeve area, something that is unique to the Manga. The vests also zipper up and can be left open or closed, although both male admins seem to keep them zippered. The female admin’s black top becomes even skimpier and resembles a sport’s bra instead of a top. The gloves are back to black once again. Aogiri’s outfit is not seen as often in the Manga due to his “job”, but it is back to being black again.

V. The Missions
A. In the anime, both Magma and Aqua have a few missions. Some intersect others don't. Magma raids ruins for clues about Groudon, and later another "ruin" site for more information. Team Aqua steals from the Devon Company, one member tries to hijack Mr.Briney's boat, ad the run into Team Magma at the second ruin site where they also are looking for information. Both teams go after the meteroite and interesect at Mt. Chimeny. Although we do not see it, we also know that both teams steal an orb from Mt. Pyre sometime around here as well. Team Aqua tries to take over the weather research institute and get information but that information winds up in the hands of Team Magma, thanks to Bannai. Both team make an appearance with the epic Groudon vs Kyogre battle, in which each team captures the sleeping Pokemon the other team is after.
B. The the game, there are only a few more major "Missions". First is the attempted robbery of the Devon Goods in the Petalburg Woods, second is the robbery of the Devon Goods in Rustboro, third is the attempt at restealing the goods in Slateport, forth is the stealing of the meteroite in Meteor Falls (and the other team interviening to try and stop this),and fifth is the take-over of Mt.Chimney (and the oposition by the other team. Mission number six is the takeover of the weather center near Fortree, mission number seven is the theft of one of the orbs from Mt.Pyre, number eight is the theft of the Submarine Explorer 1 from slateport, number nine is the "launching" of the stolen submarine from the enemy base, and lastly number ten is the awakening of the legendary Pokemon. All of these events are done by the "enemy team" of the game (Magma in Ruby, Aqua in Sapphire.)
C. In the manga, things are a little more complex. President Stone's pokemon Castform gets trapped in a fountain sabatoged by Team Aqua and they eventually steal the starter for the Submarine Explorer One from him.Two of the Magma Fireheads, Kagari and Homura, raid the adandoned cruise ship to get the scanner and shortly afterwards the other Firehead, Hokage, sucessfully steals the Submarine Explorer One.Team Aqua takes control of Mt. Chimmney and gets the meteorite from Professor Cosmo, eventually making the volcano dormant before retreating. Homura of Magma shows up at the end to try and restore the volcano but fails. Magma's Kagari sets off to look for the orbs herself while Hokage is fixing the scanner. She and a few Magma grunts cause chaos at the Rustuff Tunnel.Hokage then, having fixed the scanner, tricks Tate and Liza and steals BOTH orbs from Mt. Pyre. Matsubusa and Aogiri have a confrontation outside the TV station and agree to a temporary truce in order to reach the Underground Cavern (Magma has the sub, Aqua has the starter). Both teams wind up at the cavern together and go their seperate ways and both awaken a legendary Pokemon.

VII. Uses of the Pokemon
A. In the anime, both teams use their Pokemon for mostly battling. Although Magma uses their Mightyenas and Houndooms to intimidate intruders and Bannai uses Ditto to be able to trick Team Aqua at the weather institute. Both teams use their Pokemon to keep their enemies in place, such as at the weather institute where the scientists stayed on the middle platform cause the Crawdaunt guarded, or when the lone Aqua member stole Mr. Briney's boat and had his Crawdaunt hold Peeko hostage, or when Magam uses their Mightyenas for guard dogs while searching the ruins.
B. In the game, the enemy team uses their Pokemon purely for battling purposes.
C. In the manga, there are quite a few more uses of the Pokemon other than battle. Aqua's Shizuku uses his Carvanah to create a hiding place using Secret Power, and Izumi uses her Lombre/Ludicolo to try and drown her enemies and their Pokemon. Homura, Kagari, Hokage, and Matsubusa of Magma all use their Swellows to fly them from place to place. Matsubusa uses him Camperupt to heat the team's base. Homura also uses his Torkoal for travel just as Kagari uses her Ninetails for the same. Homura uses his Torkoal also to sprew out smoke and knock people unconcious during their mission in Slateport and Hokage uses the heart from his Slugma to create illusions to fool Ruby and much later Tate and Liza. Ushio of Aqua uses his Azumarril to create an air bubble around his head when he's trying to drown Flannery and Sapphire. Izumi uses her Vibravas to transport herself and Professor Cosmos from Metoer Falls to Mt. Chimney. Shizuku uses his Pelipepper not only to fly himself around but also to occupy Sapphire and Flannery while the mteroite is being set up. The Aquas use their Pokemon to create reflect and barrier boundries after they leave to confound Sapphire.Homura uses Torkoal's flamethrower to light ahuge fireball using a piece of coal to try and reignite Mt. Chimmney.
VIII. Relationships & Rivalries
A. There are a few things to note about realtionships and rivalries in the anime. Aqua's admin Shelly and Magma's admin Tabitha talk towards each other as if they know each other well, suggesting that perhpas they have a past connection, a relationship and a rivalry between the two. Shelly also seems to have some sort of relationship outside of her job for Aogiri, as she is the one team member most concerned during the Groudon vs Kyogre battle. On the Magma side, most Magma members act formally infront of Matsubusa, especially Tabitha who is always bowing or apologizing. Furthermore, the rivalry between Matsubusa and Aogiri is more heated than in the manga or game, both sides clearly despie each other.
B. The game does not delve into any realtionships really other than the main rivarly of Team Magma vs Team Aqua and Maxie vs Archie.
C. The manga varies from the anime on a few points. Firstly, the Magma admins are not as formal around their leader. Most of the time all of them are lounging around, although Hokage does bow to Matsubusa once. Aogiri has less respect for his team members, even though he does prote the three, he later attacks the recovering Ushio with Walreign. The two leaders seem to be able to reach temporary compromise in the manga, something not evident in the anime or game where their rivalry domiantes over everything. It also appears their are no true relationships or rivalries between the admins on opposite teams. Izumi does get concerned for Ushio, though, when he is injured at Mt. Chimney and from Kagari and Hokage's coversation that takes place shortly after the events in the Rustuff tunnel, it is clear they possibly have a friendship or something more.
